Clark's Town Anglican Diocese Church

I was here back in early 1992. I had just walked in from Jackson Town, where the previous day I had been planting yams, corn, and peas with the locals. I was sitting across the street from this church on B-10, resting, when two boys (maybe 8 years old) looked at me and started whistling and clapping at me in the way one would call to a dog, while yelling “Hey white man! Hey white man!” I will never forget it. I have dealt with the pain of racism in America, but this broke my heart. I have since learned that “mulattoes” have a terrible history in Jamaica, but you can’t judge a book by its cover. I love Jamaica, but I really hope you guys are not teaching the children in this fashion anymore.
