Overall it was a really good tour. We had to wait a bit for our tour to start but the rum punches they offered were really good and helped us relax. Beautiful and clean environment, COVID protocol in place, nice staff however I didn’t like that because I had a foreign ID, they wanted to charge me $1500 more for my ticket. Our tour guide was the best! She was very clear and informative as we went through the tour. I would definitely visit again.
It was a good trips, informative and fun.
Excellent place to visit. Clean surroundings with lots of greenery, great decor, amazing history, pleasant relaxed staff and beautiful flowers. The peacocks were a pleasant surprise.
We signed up for the ship sponsored your. They pick you up right on the Pier. In a nice and clean air conditioned bus, there was 17 people. The 2.5 hour bus ride from Montego Bay takes you through the mountain country where you see how the Islanders live. We stopped after about an hour to use the restroom and get cold beer or pops. When you arrive at the Beautiful Appleton Estate, WOW !!! I REALLY Enjoyed the Whole experience and I quit drinking over 25 years ago. They guide you through y entire process. Sorry no pictures can be taken of actual Distillers. From chewing raw sugar cane, drinking pressed sugar water sampling the molasses. Washing your hands with 96% rum. Then onto the sample room where we were taught how to properly sample and examine 3 different After all that we are a very good Jamaican food lunch. Then the ride back to the Ship . A stop at a souvenir store 👌
Excellent tour of the facility! The most thorough distillery tour I’ve ever been on. They literally walk you through the different stages of processing the sugar cane to rum and you get to take part! Informative tour guide and well worth the drive or trip out there. The only recommendation I would have is to stagger the tastings throughout the tour. It’s a bit much to be drinking all of the samples right at the end. Great tour though and I highly recommend it.
