Dream Auto, more like a Nightmare. Fast talking used car salesman who follows the Trump Doctrine, say anything to them and they will swallow it. When you talk to Manoj, everything is great and he swears he will take care of you, until something goes wrong. THEN, the problem has nothing to do with him and you are an unreasonable customer if you ask him to act responsibly. Bought a car from Dream a few months ago. It was supposed to come with a 5000 KM warranty. Within 30 km of the car lot I called Manoj (Mike) back and told him something was wrong with the front end. He said bring it back and he'll check it. Took it back and he said he didn't hear any noise so there is nothing wrong with it. He said I am being too fussy. He said only his opinion matters, not anyone else's. I took it to my alignment shop to have it aligned. The mechanic said it could not be aligned because the "damaged" front end parts need to be replaced. I showed Manoj the report from the alignment shop. His answer, "if I took 1000 cars to the alignment shop, they would say the same thing". He asked me to bring it back and he will have his guy check it. His guy confirmed that the front end was damaged. Manoj said I was unreasonable because I wanted a used car to be perfect. I pointed out time and time again that I was not complaining about normal wear and tear, I was complaining about damaged/defective parts. Before I bought it, he said he had a man in Japan that inspected the cars. (By the way, he gave me a Valuation for the car that says, both the Tie rod ends and control arms are in good condition). So, his car Valuations are bogus too. Once his own mechanic confirmed what I told him about the front end he agreed to change the parts and wanted me to pay for half the cost. He told me my half was $400.00. I said I had a hard time believing the parts cost $800.00. On four occasions asked to see the invoices for the parts, which he refused to do, says he doesn't have then and can't get the invoices. Who buys anything today without getting a receipt? He said the cost was high because he was supplying genuine replacement parts. The cost for genuine replacement parts from the dealer in Kingston is a little over $500.00. He said he was importing the parts because they were cheaper in the US. Look at the pictures attached, what he supplied was cheap aftermarket parts, which I am sure did not cost the $400.00 he charged me, but I will never know. When my mechanic saw the damaged parts that came off the car, he said I was lucky that they were replaced without incident because they could have failed at any time. Unfortunately, this guy is the typical sleazy fast talking used car dealer that won't even acknowledge and accept responsibility for what he sells. The "warranty" works great as long as you don't need to use it. Have a look at the pictures of the parts that were in "good" condition according to the Valuation he provided. Both the tie rod end and the control arm were bent. They tried to hammer the control arm back in shape. Look at what a new tie rod end looks like in the picture of the box. Look where the parts were made. Do they look like genuine replacement parts to you? Buying from this guy is as good as buying a car from anyone on the street. The advantage of buying it on the street is it will be cheaper. He certainly has the name right, Dream Auto. A bad dream!! And you are dreaming if you think you are dealing with an honorable businessman.
