I was recently in Jamaica on a church missions trip in February of 2020. I discovered Miss Sweeties shop and she became my favorite local authentic food source while in Glenwood Spring. If you desire mommas style cooking, Jamaican style, this is the place to stop. As a American in a foreign land, Miss Sweetie made me feel like a family member and provided great conversation as I enjoyed the food she prepared for me.

Local bar and restaurant in the Glenwood Springs community also called Shop Hill. Miss Sweetie’s shop is located in a friendly community mostly populated by farmers only 15 minutes drive from Spaulding and 45 minutes from the May Pen end. She sells soup a variety of Chicken dishes with rice and peas and an assortment of drinks and liquors. The food was very good and also very affordable.
