I had a pleasant visit to the Jamaica Tourist Votaf today and though I didn't do much other than wait to meet my contact, the environment was very inviting and vibrant. The receptionists were polite and courteous and very smooth in delivery. I was comfortable while I waited and was very taken with the pamphlets and art being displayed. I didn't get to take much pics. This review only lost a star because the building doesn't provide customer parking. I had to source paid parking nearby and walk back. Otherwise very lovely first impression.

Jamaica tourist board as an establishment of the government it is your responsibility to get on tv or radio and talk to the Jamaican public about their severe lack of customer service. I'm Jamaican born but have lived abroad for many year's. what appears to me is that Jamaica has got large small and individuals trying to make their money. I respect that and will custom individuals and not just big business. however it does not not matter which I go to, customer service in Jamaica is poor. I've seen it in off, tastes patties, turtle beach, mega mart while buying groceries @_@ staff look at you and treat you as if you are bothering them to do their jobs when so many people don't have jobs. they don't communicate but look at you like you can read minds, overcharge, heck I had one shop sell my mother phone credit vouchers they already scratched off and used 4 of them so it was no mistake. these people make me not go back. these people slap the food out of others mouths. when people abroad visit and have either good or bad experiences we review it and it's not like Jamaica where people brush it off and say that's Jamaica foreigners by the thousands read them and avoid places. Tourism is a big part of Jamaica economy. Returning residents is also a big part. if those are our experiences what incentive do we have to patron places or return to the island to spend our money. my mother is thinking of returning but she has been a bit doubtful now due to the experiences. Maybe if it's white tourist they try harder to impress but as foreigners we are not impressed by race and all of us are concerned with customer service, yet I note the worst experiences are from other black visitors or returning residents. it needs serious consideration and staff need to be trained. if I look in the face of another cashier looking through me like I disrespected her for asking her to do her work ..... so bizarre.

The people in Montego Bay were nice. Even though Jamaica is a beautiful place, I will never again go there, nor subject my family to visit this because of the hassle caused by the airport.

Used the service nearly every day in JA. My family was very pleased with this company!

I recently celebrated my 60th birthday in Jamaica with 15 of my closest friends. While we were in Portland , we decided to go to San San beach. Mistake. Big mistake. Huge! On arriving, we were greeted by a gentleman who told us we had to pay $700.00 each to use the beach. OK, a llittle high we thought just to swim at the beach, but we paid it. As soon as we started to spread our towels out to sit, we noticed garbage and seaweed all around us. Old plastic bottles, styrofoam containers, an old shoe and so on. We called the gentleman over to ask what the $700.00 was for if not to keep the beach clean. As soon as he got to us he asked if we needed a "rake up". So he knew the beach was in poor condition. We started to talk and he explained that they were "short staffed" and that he was the cashier, the caretaker and lifeguard. Then how you suppose to be watching the swimmers if you raking up the seaweed and collecting money??? He pointed out the owner's son sleeping on a lounge chair a few yards away and told me I could have a word with him when he woke up!!!! When he wakes up? No. I think I'll go wake him up now. And I did. The son of Ernie Smatt (Owner of Shaw Park), looked up at me from his slumber and listened to my complaint. His excuse was that as soon as they rake up the mess, the tide brings more rubbish on the beach. My response was, "If you're charging $700.00 per person, you should be able to hire more staff to keep the beach in a usable condition. Mr. Smatt's response to me was, " WELL IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU CAN GET A REFUND AND LEAVE!!!!! And so that's exactly what we did. But not before I advised him that he would be able to read about this on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. I took a few photos, got back our money and we left. And we wonder why tourism is not doing better than it is. Thank God we were staying at the lovely Sea Cliff Resort - a little piece of heaven nestled on a cliff in Portland. Once we got back to the hotel, we were able to leave that horrible experience behind and enjoy the good old Jamaican hospitality of the owners and staff of Sea Cliff. Thank you Errol and Brett Hanna for making our trip so special!!!!
