Escal Plaza has two large restaurants, a gift shop/convenience store, a fried chicken specialist cafe, a frozen yoghurt place, a Subway restaurant and a Burton shop/rental place. There is also a stack of vending machines and an information desk.
You could get kitted out, fed and relax here although it gets pretty crowded around lunchtime and throughout the weekends during snow season.
Base of the mountain, has everything thing you are looking for including Subway and a gelato shop.
Awfully crowded. A regular hoi polloi of folks from all over the world
Rental clothes are the poorest so that the clothes are soaked. I can’t recommend. And the quality of their service is bad. Waiting list for rental is too long, taking more than an hour to do.
