Japanese and Western Japanese bread tends to be highly flavoured, decorated, and soft. This bakery has the best of highly decorative Japanese bread as well as baguettes with bite. Unfortunately the latter is not ready until about 10am, but I know it is there because I had a decorated, spicy cod's roe flavoured authentic mini-baguette. My family had croissants chocolate and plain, cheese and blueberry tart, and a deep fried bread of which there are also several including donuts. In addition to a wide variety of individual breads, there are also large but soft square loaves, and round bread in plain, syrup and walnut flavours, as well as the aforementioned baguettes. There are two tills but customers are asked to form one queue. For additional hygiene the tellers do not handle money, devoting their efforts to wrapping bread in severally nested bags. Customers are therefore required to put coins and notes into a self-service cash register machine (I did not see, but they may have cashless payment). They also have free, yes free, fresh brewed coffee from a convenience store type brewing machine, an eat in cafe area, where you can eat your bread with free coffee, a small tatami (or similar) matted space for toddlers with picture books and toys, and seating - wrought iron tables and chairs - outside next to the car park. It is in the middle of an industrial estate/distribution centre, but the tree lined road is quite pleasant, on a hill on the side of the main Yamaguchi bypass. It opens at 7 am apparently, so it could be the first place to head to when you arrive at Yamaguchi by bullet train. I would guess it would be a 2500 by taxi or 30 minutes by road bike from the bullet train station.

This is the best bakery / bread shop in Yamaguchi hands down. If you like Japanese bread and you're in Yamaguchi, definitely head over here! The prices are standard, but the flavours and options are fantastic! They sell out fast and are always popular and busy when I'm there. Go earlier in the day and you will be sure to find some delicious snacks :)

兄弟が石窯で焼き上げるパンはどれも絶品でハズレ無しです。 ここは塩パンが本当に美味しくて、買いに行った時はいつも何個も買ってしまうくらいです。 塩パンも良いけど、他にはイチオシはカレーパン。 買って、食べきれなくて翌日に持ち越したパンもオーブンで再加熱すると、また美味しく食べれました。 お値段は少し張るかもですが、食べるとコスパの良さがよく分かります。

購入したパンを外で頂きました！ どのパンも美味しく、カレーパンは本当にやみつきになるお味でした。
