I found most of the grocery stores I visi6while in Okinowa had polite, helpful employees more than willing to deal with non Japanese speaking visitors. The quality of food was very good, they even had some limited American staples for those who are afraid to try the local cuisine.

Great selection of food...try and go on a day when they have deals on food.
