SL Land Museum

This is not a rail museum. Inside the wagons are some very old and dirty play area for kids : my 2 year old cried because he found the place scary (the place in general is quite creepy, probably nothing has been renewed since the 70's). You have to pay an additional fee for the few things that interest kids (railway mockup). If the entrance fee was cheap I would not have mind it so much but with 1000yen for adults and 600yen for kids the place is totally overpriced. Even on rainy days I don't recommend. You'd rather spend those 1000yen in playing at the neighbouring car museum.

Huge waste of money, 2 adults and a toddler were 4000 yen. Then once you're in all the rides, trains require more money. If you want to see the model trains move you need to pay 100 yen per train per loop. Wanted to get our moneys worth but only stayed 30 mins max.

Good for family outing.

I regret that I should have read the reviews carefully before heading out. Many people say that it is for small children, but I think that there are many children who cry dimly on the 2nd and 3rd floors aside from the 1st floor. Was it a doll collection and an adventure museum? Our children were useless. If you are a child who likes railways, we recommend SL Taiki in Nikko, C12 on Moka Railway, and the playroom at Mooka Station in Tochigi Prefecture. It might be better to enter with an admission ticket at Nasushiobara Station and see the Shinkansen. With the Mini SL, you can ride at the nearby Rindo Lake. After the museum, I was considering eating at the restaurant next door, but I was so shocked that I changed to convenience store meals. There was only negative information, so a little good point. Adults who want to go to retro leisure facilities and those who like antique dolls may want to take a look. The collection of dolls of the work "Wata no Kunihoshi" was cute.
