Located to the side of the station gate, this tourist information centre has a few bikes for rent including 1 electric one. I hired one for 1/2 day for 700 yen. These are an excellent way to get around Mashiko town, but if you're buying pottery perhaps a small backpack is better than a bag in the bike's front basket. The man inside speaks quite good English given that you're in a country area. They may store your suitcase if you hire a bike and the suitcase won't fit in the station lockers (most med-large western suitcases will NOT fit in the available lockers at Mashiko station).

It corresponds also to foreign tourists in recent years. It should have been. Please drop by the tourist information office and pick up the brochure at least.

There are a lot of pamphlets, and I think it is easier to make a plan if you collect tourist information here. The receptionist kindly taught me various things, so I enjoyed sightseeing in Mashiko. Bicycles can be rented at Mashiko Station and the tourist information center, but please note that the management source is different. There are many sightseeing spots in Mashiko city, so if you try to go around them, it will be faster and cheaper to rent a day. Please note that the number of bicycles is not very large (there are about 4 tourist information centers). Mashiko Station: 400 yen for 2 hours (+100 yen every hour thereafter, until 17:00) Tourist information center: 700 yen a day (until 16:00) For reference, I went to the following in about 5 hours by bicycle. Since it is an electric bicycle, it was quite easy to move. ・ Sotoike Sake Brewery (1.3km west of Mashiko Station) ・ Irori Chaya (3.6km east of Mashiko Station) ・ Roadside station (4.3km south of Mashiko station)

It is on the right hand side just outside Mashiko Station on the Moka Railway. If you apply at the reception, you can rent an electric bicycle. The tourist center of Mashiko kiln is more than 10 minutes walk from the station, and the range is long and narrow, so it is very convenient to rent a bicycle.
