Daruma Sushi

Located in the heart of Sakata's nightlife district, Daruma Sushi is, if I've understood correctly, currently being run by the son of the original owner. It's a place steeped in style, so it trends a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. It has counter seating and small group seating on the first floor, and party seating on the second floor. The head chef is young for Sakata, but make no mistake; if you like sushi he will serve up something tasty. Just be prepared to spend a bit. Fortunately, the also take credit cards and, if I'm not mistaken, PayPay.

Loving their Kaisen don, especially Ryogujyou (竜宮城, Dragon Castle) and Choutokyu Chirashi (超特ちらし, Super Special Don). Their seafood freshness is to die for.

I visited with an elementary school child. Since I was guided to the tatami room, I was able to eat with confidence even if there were noisy children. The sashimi is very fresh and delicious. The tempura is also crispy and very delicious. I got a lot of oysters and shellfish, and I was full with snacks. Everything was really delicious ...! It was a wonderful sushi restaurant where the personalities of the general and younger brother were synergistic and the cold Yamagata was lit up with warmth.
