Even if its not sakura season for Joetsu yet we see Sakura. You can take a walk and relax.

Great for walking or cycling through and around. Very fond memories of playing tennis on the public courts. Sad to see they are no longer there.

I am guessing that we visit at the wrong date and time. the place itself was okay, but nothing special to be seen and it was quite a long walk from the hotel / train station. the bridge heading there is more interesting though

After spending two weeks chasing cherry blossoms around Japan, Takada Park has been the highlight. Beautiful in the day, and magical at night with the blossoms lit up in various colours. The various food stalls means you can easily spend hours taking in the beauty. Parking was a total nightmare in the evening, so just catch a bus and avoid the hassle of walking from what felt like the next town.

Lovely park and small castle fort, with fantastic outer moat of lotuses. Under this hot summer, everything looks even more vibrant!
