As I had good experiences in the past in other countries with Anytimefitness, I wanted to get a membership during my 1 month stay in Japan.
At first a 1 day Trial was offered to me, plus a asked for the price for a 1 month membership and was told that the minimum is 2 months.
I then was asked for a residency card from the employee at the counter. After I told her that I am only here for a couple of weeks and I had my passport with me, she checked with her manager and came back after a few minutes with an offer of 17.200 Yen for 1.5 months.
I told her, that I would like to take on her offer of a 1 day trial to check out the gym and would decide about the membership afterwards, she had to check again with her manager.
After a few min she came back that I was neither been able to get the trial nor the before offered membership due to the lack of my residency card all of a sudden.
Wasted 20 minutes in there, gym seemed to have a small cadio section, I did not have the chance to get a look at the weights area.
Certainly a very poor and left a somewhat weird perception of the sudden chance in the decision making.
No day pass for visitors
Handstands are forbidden :(
There are running, jogging, and motorcycle equipment on the first floor, and the basement is a muscle training system. Since it is not wide, there are not many appliances and the space is a little narrow. Comfortable if you avoid busy hours.
