This is a contemporary Japanese bar, it has an extensive range of whiskey available and the staff are very attentive to your needs. Not reading Japanese, I was questioned about what I liked and cocktails were made which were amazing. I haven't tried the food menu, but if the drinks are anything to go on it would be good. On tap is carlsberg, however they do have Japanese beers available. It's super quit until 9:30pm, I was the only person here but then people started to arrive. It's a nice quiet atmosphere that's a definite must have in the heart of Tokyo. There is a lack of English menu, but I don't see this as a bad thing, you are in Japan after all. The guy that served me speaks English. Highly recommended.

Best bar in Tokyo!!! Friendly staff and best drinks! I love Katsumi and Eri! They are the best! Make sure if you go to Japan you come here. Best memories!

Comfortable, clean, low-key bar. Lights and voices usually kept low. Decent enough selection but the real charm are the bartenders, friendly and accommodating.

What a hidden gem in the heart of Tokyo! The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. Katsumi the owner is probably the most friendliest local you'll ever meet in Japan! I was afraid of not being able to make friends with locals after reading about how conservative Japanese people can be but it wasn't like that at all at bar daybreak. I actually made numerous friends with locals that come here. Katsumi introduced me to so many people I couldn't possibly be thankful enough! He actually took me to a nearby mall that had a bunch of shanty style like bars. Kind of like the ones you would find in Golden gai but not cover charges and all tourist (gaijin) friendly. I met a couple of the owners and locals there and became friends with all of them. I was so surprised at how friendly and welcoming everyone was. As for the bar itself, there's a wide variety of drinks from whiskey (plenty of Japanese whiskey if that's what you're after), scotch, vodka, rum, tequila, gin, anything you could think of it's there! Katsumi is also great at making cocktails and has a board of specials that you should definitely give a try. They are absolutely oishi (delicious)! There's also food here if you find yourself hungry which I found amazing. Try the chicken carbonara if you happen to be craving Italian in Japan. I've had some of the most memorable experiences during my Japan trip here at bar daybreak and with Katsumi and his staff. If you find yourself in the Shibuya/Meguro area definitely hit this place up. You won't regret it!
