Only recommended for people that like bird watching and learning about some rare bird species unique to these remote islands. Example of introduced animals by humans affecting ecology of native species. There is a large inland lake nearby so that would be better place to see, can even fish there if you got the gear.

It is a museum in the mountains near Oji Pond. Miyakejima has few sightseeing spots, so I think it's a good idea to visit it together with Oji Pond. Last week, I was stuck in the parking lot at the back of Oji Pond because my car battery ran out. If there was no mobile radio wave in the vicinity and there was no Akakokkokan, that would be the end of consistency. If I thought I would just call a tow truck, the ranger who happened to be there rescued me and the battery was revived. After that, I was able to drive around the island. Thank you for responding flexibly. I will take a leisurely tour at the Akakokkokan again.

Miyakejima seems to have many regular holidays on Mondays, so this was also the case. The entrance fee is 200 yen, but you can do bird watching at Ojiike even if you don't enter here.

Speaking of Akakokko, a bird that represents Miyakejima. The Izu Islands thrush is the Japanese translation of the scientific name. This is the natural observation center that bears the red cocoon. In the back of the facility, there is an observation room for wild birds, as well as an exhibition of the history of the island as well as wild birds. It's good to stop by before you go to Ooji Pond

Onee-san gave me a bright explanation. I enjoyed taking a photo of the red-and-white hood, and I enjoyed taking pictures. The full-scale stuffed bird with real weight was a lot of handmade feeling. But it was a really nice person with a lot of love for birds
