almost abandoned place but still good to visit when you visit Ishimakisan
From the lower parking lot, you will walk up a steep hill toward Ishinomaki Shrine, and a signboard that will guide you to the museum will appear at the place where you climbed the stone staircase.
(If you thought it was along the road, it was a concrete building that lay quietly among the dense trees.)
There is a staircase next to the building, where you can see the Toyohashi-Tahara area. However, because there are many trees around, the view is not good enough.
There are rock displays and panels in the hall, and explanations of animals and plants around Mt. Ishinomaki are given.
The hall smells like a vacant house, like a little smell of dust. It may be a good idea to stop by during the Ishinomaki hiking and shrine visits.
There is a toilet in the back.
* Since there is a huge hornet's nest under the building eaves from the parking lot on the lower side (near the Natsume Ryokan) to the shrine, please be careful if you pass nearby !
(There is nesting at the ⭕️ mark in the image)
When a bee flies around in a circle around it, it is the first warning action. Stop immediately and slowly retract and evacuate.
The second (final) notice is made when the bee flies and ticks and chins. Evacuate immediately!
If you proceed without noticing, you will be attacked.
I went to the parking lot by car. The road is a nice road and sometimes narrow, but it looks good for driving.
The person in the library thought at first glance, "Please close?", But the door opened properly.
I like it as a hideout. I was able to enjoy the explanation in detail. There were also notes that could be written on.
Next time I would like to climb to the summit and see the scenery.
It is a mountain made of limestone. It will bloom around the middle of May, but it has not appeared this year. You can observe the snail's friends after the rain. Limestone after rain is slippery, so be careful. Even if you climb from the foot, you can climb in about an hour.
There are only sober exhibits, but there is a large table and chairs for casual entry. It can be used as a rest after climbing Mt. Ishinomaki. There is also a toilet.
It is a good place to think about whether you are heading to Daichinami Pass, while looking at the presentation materials that explain the surrounding nature and trails. Not only around Mt. Ishinomaki, but also an overview of the vertical road running north and south, along with the highlights and standard travel times, are carefully explained.
To reach the Daichinami Pass, you will have to walk the 1.8 km driveway (forest road) called Ishinomaki Kankoro. It is a paved road until 1/3, but if it is not an SUV, it seems to rub the bottom. I think that it is good to walk with a little difference in elevation.
