Nice contemporary art museum with a collection of performance art, video art and photography works and some installations. Loved their museum shop.
I am art lover and was born and raised in Tokyo!
If you really like contemporary art, you should visit here but it costs 1000 fee per person.
I highly recommend to visit the following art galleries in Tokyo as well. They are free.

In the basement, a little gem (literally). Ex globetrotting lifestyle magazine editor Donald Munetake / Donald_death (on instagram) has a tiny, tiny jewelry workshop INSIDE a wall in watarium's bookstore. A great artist and great guy!
Located in a great neighborhood that makes the visit worthwhile, this small museum holds what, to my well experienced, but not formally trained eye, looks more like what is termed "contemporary art," than "modern art." The former is rarely, but sometimes, my cup of tea. There collection here "left me cold." Inexpensive entry fee.
I love art museums, but this place left me cold. The art on display was so bland I honestly thought I was in the wrong room. Imagine 3 small, mostly empty rooms with a few lamps, cables, and rocks. The gift shop was more interesting than the exhibit. At 1000 yen, the entrance fee is absolutely not worth it.
