Sabae has been making its history from the Paleolithic era buried one after another. The Kamijo Shirakaba Hill Exhibition Hall, which collects earthenware and murals excavated from more than 10 ruins in Kanie-cho, and folk materials of the local Sabae, is located very close to the Hakuan Ancient Hill Park and the Kamijo Abandoned Temple.
Among them, "Ishima", an important cultural property, "Buddhist murals" excavated at the temple site of the Asuka Nara period, "Kamijo Abandoned Temple", and "Figureed Minowa" excavated from the Idechigo No. 3 burial mound are valuable in archeology and art history It is preserved and displayed as a unique material, which gives visitors surprise and excitement.
In addition, “Painting pottery” excavated from the Kakuda ruins, “Kuchinawa-san” used for tug-of-war for fortune-telling at the Hachiman festival in the Kamiiso area, the end of the Edo period, for soldiers to wear in emergency situations Materials that tell the history of Sabae, such as the tangible cultural property of the town where it was made, “Body Armor”, are on display.
Here, I will explain in detail the main exhibits, the “Imama” of the Kofun period, the “Buddhist mural” excavated at the Kamijo Abandoned Temple, and the “Maizo Minowa” excavated from the Idechigo No. 3 Kofun
Ishima, a precious cultural asset revered with God
“Ishima” was decorated with stone burial mounds from the Kofun period, and the pretty-shaped stone horses were about 1.5 meters long and were arranged in the Tsunekaki burial mound (Ishigaya burial mound) built late in the Kofun period. This is the only place that was found outside. During the Edo period, it was enshrined in many mountains and was celebrated as “Ishima Daimyojin”.
Japan's oldest Buddhist mural, comparable to Horyuji Kondo mural
It is said that the “Buddhist mural” found in the temple ruins of the Asuka / Nara era, Kamijo Abandoned Temple, is comparable to the Horyuji Kindo mural. It has been attracting attention in the history of archeology and arts as a valuable resource for thinking about Donai's solemnity at that time.
Hibiki Minowa, a rare example of excavation in western Japan
A large number of "cylindrical haniwa and figured elephant rings" were found in the trenches around the Idezo No. 3 old burial mound. In particular, there are three “Shield Holders” that are rarely found in western Japan.
The admission fee is about 310, but it is worth it.
In such exhibition halls, there are many cases where photography is not possible.
There is a stone horse that seems to be from the Kofun period, and this is a replica, but I think that it is the fun of this region that remains from such an old period.
Buddha statues are also displayed, but this is just an atmosphere, no decoration, or no surface treatment, a refreshing feeling.
Perhaps it was an exhibition hall that refrained from revealing Buddhist colors.
There are also hot spring facilities near the exhibition hall, making it a relaxing place.
I happened to find it on Google Map, but it was very good.
The number of facilities and exhibits, the atmosphere, ... everything was wonderful. why? , I wonder if there are a small number of visitors to the tour, or there are no publications in various quarterly magazines etc. for attracting tourists? Entrance fee is also cheap. From the content of the exhibition, I think it may be more expensive. I am sorry if you are going from now on.
I gently explained it. It was a surprise that such a wonderful temple in Tottori was in the Asuka Nara era
There weren't so many exhibits, but I think it was good to see them slowly and take no pictures.
