Ayabe Onsen

I did not stay in the hotel here, but went to the onsen and ate at the restaurant. I enjoyed my time here, the onsen is set in a gorgeous location, in close proximity to hiking trails, Komyoji Temple and Niomon Gate, as well as a great Japanese horse chestnut tree in the forest. The onsen itself had multiple baths to choose from (including a citrus bath this weekend) and a steam sauna. While the baths overlook the forest, it is difficult to see when in the baths because of the barrier built to give the people bathing privacy. There were two individual soaking tubs that were closed off when I was there. The restaurant was pretty standard Japanese fare, however there were signs that indicated the restaurant uses local ingredients. I ordered a soba set meal with tempura, and my partner ordered a tonkatsu egg bowl. Both were good, but they didn't seem to feature or highlight any special local ingredients (though perhaps the tempura used some local vegetables). I would definitely use this onsen again if I was hiking in the area. It's a great hub in the forest.

wish i could have time to soak in the bath but i was busy trekking around lol ... ended up no such time Anyway this review is only for the majestic puff cream sold in their restaurant! A decent size , ton of rummy custard cream !!! Maybe you could imagine how yummy it was from the photos .... oh i really wish i could do teleportation for this treat ... lol Btw make sure you go there early enough to get one and eat it inside the building/ cars because there were lots of kite flying around ... i got a soft lightning-like hit from a kite ... it was one of a kind experience though;) Lunch was also great with great view! Rice was awesome!!!Free refill for rice if you ask them ! I wish they run more shuttle buses or on demand so people who don't drive cars can enjoy bath without worrying about the time☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆ やまを歩いていて入りたかったけどお風呂にはいれなかつたので…レストランのレビューだけです☆ ここのラム酒かおるカスタードクリーム超たつぷりなシュークリームは レジェンダリーです！！！ このシュークリームを食べるためにどこでもドアがほしいなあと 久しぶりにおもいました 笑 シュークリーム場合によってははやくうりきれてるみたいなので、はやめに行ってゲットして＆雷のようなトンビにさらわれそうになつたので…食べるときは、建物/車の中がおすすめ！ レストランからのながめもよく、お昼ご飯も とてもおいしかつた！！！とくにご飯！！！頼んだら、ご飯おかわりできました！！！ 公共交通機関なひともゆつくりたのしめるよう、もつとシャトルバスがあればいいのになあとおもいました☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

I use it at a day trip hot spring. There is an outdoor sleeping bath with a roof, a normal indoor bathtub, a medicated bathtub, and even a sauna, and the price is reasonable at 600 yen. Since it is located deep in the mountains, it is good to be able to take a bath calmly without being relatively crowded. The sleeping bath on a moonlit night is comfortable. Hot water with smooth skin warms up to the core even in winter.

You can relax in a secluded area. The room is clean. I am satisfied with the structure where the hot springs can be relaxed. There are no convenience stores nearby, so it is recommended that you complete your shopping in advance.

仕事で宿泊させて頂きましたが、温泉が一般客（日帰り)が９時迄で、宿泊客は１０時迄で違和感ありました。部屋風呂のシャワーカーテンは触りたくない程カビ等の汚れ、レストランの夕食では、厚切りトンカツ？（の触れ込みだったと思いますが)がコスモス等の冷凍トンカツに良く似ていました。更にご飯おかわりして下さいとの事で、おかわりをお願いしても、１０分位しても来ません。まだ炊けていないと理解し出て来ました。残念です。フロントの対応は大変良かったです。
