Although I didn’t stay at the hostel, Madoka (the owner) was extremely thoughtful and helpful to me and my partner who were looking for work. We originally came to see if she needed any help at the hostel or restaurant, but unfortunately she didn’t need any help at the time. However she went out of our way to help us and ask around the community and her friends to see if she could help us and find us a job. She was extremely helpful to us, and her kindness won’t be forgotten! I recommend staying at the hostel, purely because I’m sure the hospitality provided by Madoka will be second to none!

Madoka, the owner, was fantastic. She made me feel welcomed and gave me good advice on where to go and nearby supermarkets to buy ingredients, considering I am on a shoestring budget. The facilities were nice and conducive to getting to know your fellow guests. The beds were more spacious than expected. I will definitely recommend this place for those travelling around Akita and want to experience authentic Japanese countryside. I would definitely come back here when I get the chance to visit Akita again. Thanks again, Madoka-san! My only advice here is to pay close attention to the local train timetable bound for Akita city.

A nice, cozy hostel open to international as well as domestic guests. The attached bar and dining space also feels very open and welcoming! The food is often made from local produce and is always delicious! おすすめです!

Super nice, accommodating hosts and an awesome atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again if I went travelling around this area again.

Young male staff He was friendly to me 😊 You can enjoy it at the bar on the first floor at night Breakfast can be eaten at the same place 🍴 There is evidence that many foreigners are using it, and there are guides written in English throughout the building. Since the building is old, you can hear conversations and footsteps in the next room, but if you don't mind, you can enjoy it like a guest house.
