I recommend this garden to begin a tour of Kyoto. You can see the tower reflecting in the pond.

Lovely garden in Kyoto that's super quiet as well. Work was happening on one of the ponds when we were there so was noiser than usual but still a nice place to visit

It was very peaceful and quiet. We came when most of the flowering trees and plants were dead for the winter, but it was still beautiful and interesting to see. The guoidebook they provide yuou with is really detailed and is great if you are interested in the architecture and history of the gardens.
