The park is filled with flowering trees. As others have mentioned, all the trees are small and young because of a disease that blighted the trees a few years ago. The view of the town and the valley below make the trip worthwhile. While the trees are not large the blossoms sweeten the air and the view is great.

Its very wide park and lot of Ume Trees.its better to go there in March 5 th or so.

the trees on the park contracted virus a while ago, so now in 2020 it is not so beautiful. maybe in a couple of years.

[February 2016] DON'T GO. All the plum trees are dead. I repeat ALL TREES ARE DEAD. Some tree disease happened at one point and there is nothing left to see in this park, just two saddening hills. And instead of warning visitors, they put plum flowers festival flags all the way from the station and they set up food stands, as if everything was alright.

Ume Park, but from mid-September Amaryllis is in bloom in some areas. The plums have been cut due to illness, but You can also enjoy cherry blossoms in spring.
