The beach is not as wonderful as you can read in many guides. It's dirty they are some plastic waste on the sand. The water is not clear and the sand not as white a described everywhere. There is only one restaurant with very few choices . So I agree that its a good option for taking a bath in this warm month of August but don't expect that much because you could be disappointed. Except that the rest of the island is really beautiful.

Not better than Narita. Interesting place, but little bit dirty around non-that really tourist places.

Lovely place to camp, if you go by car, or if you don't mind the hour-or-so-long walk from the ferry / sites. Mostly few other foreigners staying, as it was not a weekend nor a national holiday during camping season. I imagine facilities would be slightly better up-kept during high-season.
