Lots of fresh food choice here... Worth going here not only for food but to enjoy the local atmosphere and feel the busy activities.
Lots of choice for pickles, local products and crackers sembe etc all made locally.
Good if your a tourist and want to take some food home as it is all shrink wrapped, so suitable for travelling and will last the journey home and more if pickles.
It also has some local sake from the region so you can buy food , drink, snack produced locally.
I recommend this shop when your in kyoto.

A warm store that is close to the local area (not meant to refuse Mr. Ichimi). Chirimen yam handmade at the shop is very delicious. The appearance of the grandmother who carefully removes the fruits of the yam from the branches one by one at the store was the most beloved sight I saw in Kyoto.
