There are machines here that do washing and drying all at once that even provide their own detergent and fabric softener. There are also instructions in English that can be helpful to foreigners. I had to run the drying portion for a bit longer than the original cycle, but that was because I had a lot of jeans in my load of laundry. As far as laundromats go this is a pretty great one.

Nice place with very clean and modern machines. You don't need to bring anything but your dirty clothes. Detergent etc is provided by the machines. Washing machines are also dryers, you can select a combined program of 25 minutes washing and 15 minutes drying for 4KG of clothes which costs 1000 Yen. That's the only downside, this place is quite expensive, although all coin laundries in Kyoto maybe this expensive.

Nice coin laundry to use if your place doesn't have washing machines. Benches to wait at and tables for folding. Even comes with English instructions. The coin exchange machine wasn't working but we used the drink vending machine for change and it was slightly confusing and pricey, but machines are huge and one load should be enough.

100 yen for 8 mins .... We spent 300 yen for 24 mins which is good enough for half a load of clothes

Little pricy but the machines have English instructions and work really well.
