One of my fav secret gardens. While many others are packed when it is momiji season, this garden is usually pretty calm and absolutely beautiful. There is also a great little bakery just down the street to buy scones.

Admission - 150yen Traditional Japanese garden near kokubunji station. And autumn is the best time to visit this beautiful garden.

A very fine and gorgeous traditional garden in Kokubunji. This Japanese garden is tailored on a pre-existing geology in the area, with different levels: in the lowest point there is a pond with koi fishes, then you climb some stone stairs to reach an observation point, with a Highland garden located on the highest point. You can also rent a tearoom space. I think it is worth taking a train for 20-30 minutes from Shinjuku to reach here!
