Toda was the first schooner-type sailing vessel to be built in Japan in 1855. Materials are on display about its history and history, and its subsequent exchanges with Russia. The collaborative Shikishi between Russians and Japanese at that time is a must-see. Don't give up on improving relations between the two countries! It will tell you that again. (* Some materials say, "I built Japan's first style sailing ship ...", but this is a mistake. Japan's first was San Buena Ventura, which was built in Ito in 1610, and at the end of the Edo period, 1854. The phoenix circle of the year comes first.) In fact, about half of the facilities are lined with materials for Toda's fishery and materials for deep-sea fish supervised by Mr. Kokoriko Tanaka, but for some reason Toda's evaluation is low. Although it is only valuable materials, it is pushed into an inconspicuous place (laugh) I think that you can enjoy Toda even more if you can see not only shipbuilding and Russia but also this fishery and deep sea fish exhibition. The location of the facility is at the tip of a sandbar, which is topographically very interesting. If you have time, why not take a walk for a while?

The parking lot is free, but I think that people with disabilities need assistance as they climb the stairs to enter the building. The admission fee is 200 yen. You can learn about the history of Toda, the patterns of earthquakes and tsunamis in the Edo period, and the history of fishing gear. We also sell the amulet mask 🎭 made from the shell of the spider crab.
