Shoji Ueda Museum of Photography

Very beautiful modern museum dedicated to a photographer's love for taking pictures of his daily observations. We spent close to 2.5 hours, enjoying the exhibits and the video of his life story. The museum's location is near the foot of Mt Daisen, so you can see it in the distance from the glass windows. Although there is a small cafe and souvenir shop, it does not serve food, only hot coffee. Ample parking spaces available and it is not too crowded.

A wonderful photography museum. Occasionally has rotating photography exhibits on the first floor, but the rest of the museum is devoted to the work of Ueda Shoji. Also home to the worlds largest camera lens, which operates a camera obscura of Daisen.

Incredible building and a really wonderful exhibit. This is a must see.

I didn't know much about photography before I visited here with my wife, but I came away with a lot. It was a great stop on our tour of Tottori.

Museum of Ueda from Shimane. I didn't know until I visited, but I enjoyed many cutting-edge works that combined fashion and dunes.
