Been there finally last year. Such a amazing and unbelievable museum, on so many Honda bike from first generation to the latest. Always been a Honda fans since young boy. Finally my dream came true.
Spend a whole morning going through level by level four by floor room by room to see all kind of bikes. Especially the history of Honda. The location is quite far from town. We have to take few trains and taxi to get there from Tokyo. Not easy trips but exciting. It is very very very quiet not much visitor.
Suitable for families and especially students.
The little town was very quiet and less occupancy.
Good for all
If you are an automobile buff, this is a pilgrimage you must visit in your lifetime! It is almost entire history of automobile (And full history of Honda) starting from motored bicycle to evolution of cars, F1, some other motors like lawn mowers, boat motors, they even have small plane; apparently Honda makes engines of planes. (I am sure soon they will put that Honda generator which Tesla users use to charge their cars in emergency) They have a bike which has sofa like seats, ground world record speed holder machine, small planes, motor boats, all types of two wheelers and four wheelers produced in all parts of the world, F1 cars used by Honda. Small display of how F1 tyres looked in each decade from 1920 races and you will be amazed for the transformation they have been to. It is so huge that if you are a real buff, you might spend around half day there admiring the exhibits and the way they are maintained and displayed. The curator told that they all are in working condition and are switched on at least once a year. If you have a pestering spouse, not interested in automobiles, you may still spend around 2 hours there!
Nearby there is Asimo museum as well.
Public transport available.
Always wanted to visit this place. Off the beaten path, but worth the hike. We had a car so it was a bit easier. Tolls are expensive though. Seeing the f1 cars from every generation is worth the price of admission itself ! Make a day of it, because most likely will take up a whole day.
You will get to see all things Honda, from motorcycles to sedans to race cars. All in pristine conditions. I saw cars up to the 90's. Did not see anything newer than that.
The transfer-bus to Motegi brought me here. Easy access. Huge hall. Love the collection so much. They display many motorcycles and cars that ever been produced or driven by racers.
