Former Yamagata Normal School Main Building is an important cultural property of the country in the Meiji period architecture. The building that seems to be an auditorium and a gate guard on the same site also makes you feel the history.

Former Yamagata Normal School Main Building opened in 1878, moved to the current location in 1901 due to aging, and was newly built. It is a two-story wooden building consisting of a U-shaped flat surface, based on the Renaissance style, and features a mortar-painted exterior wall that is shown as clapboard with vertical tile bricks as a base.

The educational museum uses the former Yamagata Normal School main building, and the building is designated as an important cultural property. Yamagata Normal School opened in 1878 and was relocated to its current location in 1901. It seems that the building is a two-story wooden structure and is symmetrical with a Renaissance style.
