Sato Hikogoro Shinsengumi Museum

会津中将からの拝領刀につき、館長と奥深い話をした。土方歳三の佩刀は兼定が一般的には知られているが、本当に大切だったのは此方の刀ではなかったかと。秀吉の時代移行、刀は恩賞の対象となり武器として実用するものと伝家として継続保有するものと二種に別れた。展示の御刀は武骨な半太刀拵え、当時の正式軍装用である此方の拝領刀は、新撰組として京都守護を担った証として永代残したかったのではないかと。

This is a museum opened by the descendants of the Shinsengumi members who had a close relationship with each other. You can get a glimpse of Hijikata Toshizo's personal thoughts at the wife of his sister, who was nostalgic for Hijikata Toshizo. In addition, during the "Hino Shinsengumi Festival" held around GW every year, you can see pictures of Toshizo Hijikata's tooth profile delivered by Tetsunosuke Ichimura.

The Shinsengumi, especially the items related to Hijikata, which was owned by Hikogoro Sato, the husband of Hijikata's older sister, who is a supporter of the Shinsengumi, is on display, and I think it is more rare than his parents' home. The offspring will explain it carefully. Since there are many closed days, we recommend that you check in advance. Within walking distance of JR Hino Station, Daishoji Temple of the Sato Family Bodaiji Temple, Gensaburo Inoue Museum, Hosenji Temple of the Inoue Family Bodaiji Temple, and Yasaka Shrine with the amount of Tennen Rishin-ryu Swordsmanship are nearby. By all means, we recommend you to see it as a set.

There were letters from Soji Okita and Shin Nagakura in the museum, and a letter from Kondo also described the sword of Hijikata. Hijikata fans, of course, were able to enjoy a wide range of knowledge. Reproductions, Toshizo Hijikata (reproduction size), hand-painted copy & paper, original goods, etc., limited goods that are valuable for fans are also sold.
