So, Hotel AZ is my go to hotel when I bicycle around Kyushu. I even have a card. They seem to be placed perfectly for the distance I ride in a day and I've never been turned away because they were full. I'm sure there is cheaper lodging to be found but when I factor in convenience, cleanliness, a great included breakfast, cheap laundry machine...just can't beat it. Another reason I love Hotel AZ is that they will call ahead to the next one I plan on going to and reserve a room for me. The staff are wonderful and polite and them doing that for me is quite humbling. I don't have to stumble through my mediocre Japanese and knowing I don't have to search for lodging makes the next day's trip stress free. I had Ijuin Hotel AZ call in a reservation for this particular Hotel AZ but I arrived so early that I asked them to cancel and reserve a room at the next one up the road in Ashikita. Thank you!!
