Funami Chaya

We actually came back to Tochigi just to eat here. It’s in the old part of town, on the river. The building is quite old and traditional, and on the walls are old photographs of the restaurant. The owner is very friendly. They sell a local style of katsu karee, with salad, desert and a drink for 1000¥. It is so tasty!

A good place to take a short break after walking. It seems that curry and rice made from Kanpyo is famous, but sometimes there are days when it isn't. The owner's aunt is friendly and kind.

In 2016/08, I stopped by during the walk. On the bench under the eaves, I had a delicious iced coffee with a good aftertaste. Coupled with the scenery of the city, I was able to spend a very calm time. If you have a chance, see you again. Next, I would like you to add sweetness.

The shop, remodeled from an old private house, blends with the chartered wholesale store, the black panther, and the old streets, has a very good atmosphere. Also, no matter what kind of coffee or kelp tea is offered, there is no doubt. Shichimi peppers produced in Tochigi as souvenirs are also very fragrant.

Kuzukiri is delicious.
