Nango Park is a park built around Nangoike, which was used as the outer moat of Tanba Kameyama Castle. It is also close to JR Kameoka Station. The "47th Kameoka Mitsuhide Festival" was held on May 3, 2019, and the new statue of Mitsuhide Akechi was unveiled. It is an Ikoi park next to the former Tamba Kameoka castle ruins. The statue of Mitsuhide Akechi was set up in Nango Park, which can be said to be the symbol of Kameoka City, where the cherry blossoms in full bloom bloom in spring and are crowded with many people. As Kameyama Castle, the statue of Akechi Mitsuhide, who laid the foundation of the town of Kameoka, was commended, and the statue of Akechi Mitsuhide was erected to make it a new symbol of Kameoka, which is a place related to Kameoka. May 3, 2019 On the day, the unveiling ceremony was held at Nango Park where the statue stands during the "47th Kameoka Mitsuhide Festival". This statue was erected by the "Akechi Mitsuhide Statue Construction Executive Committee" formed by the city group. In addition, regarding the construction cost, more than 28 million yen was donated from outside the city through the hometown tax payment. As a symbol of Kameoka, the town of Kirin, the statue of Akechi Mitsuhide was created by Toji Masatoshi (Masatoshi Taji), a sculptor living in Kameoka City, based on the portraits in the collection of Hontokuji Temple. It is designed to express Mitsuhide as a Tomosho and a cultural figure rather than the fierceness of a Sengoku warlord. In addition, "Asagiri" peculiar to Kameoka City is placed at the foot of the statue. In addition, two pairs of restored Shachi tiles are displayed at the entrance of the park. The Shachihoko tile (built in Kaei 5), which was in the castle tower of Tanba Kameyama Castle, was sold to Mr. Kibei Morikawa of Kyoto City due to the abandoned castle around 1891. After that, it was donated to the new construction of Kyoto Prefectural Medical School (currently Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine) in 1897, and it is said that it was distinctive at both ends of the auditorium building tile. One of the pair was destroyed, but the other one is now in the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine. In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the enforcement of the city system and the 25th anniversary of the club's founding, this shachihoko tile, which had a strange fate, was restored as a bronze statue in this place overlooking the site of Tamba Kameoka Castle. We hope that it will be loved by the citizens for a long time as a monument to the history of Kameoka. April 15, 1995 Kameoka Rotary Club The castle tower of Kameoka Castle is drawn on the base of the other Shachi tile. There is a stone monument that says "Akechi Mitsuhide's castle, Kameyama Castle". Originally Sotobori, Nango Pond is actually a river called Zouzugawa. On the south side of Tanba Kameyama Castle, where the Sanin Kaido passes and the castle town spreads out, there are three moats of inner moat, sotobori, and sobori, and Odoi, giving it a solid stance. On the other hand, in Karamete-mon on the north side where Nango Park is located, the outer moat is only surrounded by a single layer. This is because it is designed so that in the event of an emergency, if the flow of the Hozu River is blocked, the paddy fields on the north side will suddenly become a large moat. Nango Park has been developed as a city park where you can enjoy seasonal flowers centered on cherry blossoms, and is an urban space where various events such as the Kameoka Mitsuhide Festival are held. In addition, Nango Pond, which is the outer moat of Tanba Kameyama Castle, is home to about 40 types of dragonflies, including Anax parthenope, Orthetrum albisum, and Sympetrum frequens. So many habitats are rare and valuable. It is truly a dragonfly paradise. You can get a glimpse of the rich nature of Kameoka.

Surely beautiful cherry blossoms will bloom in spring. It seems to be again at that time. Today was December, but it was a warm day, so I saw someone fishing in the moat.

A park facing Nango Pond, which is the outer moat of Tanba Kameyama Castle, the residence of Mitsuhide Akechi, the main character of the "Kirin ga Kuru" taiga drama. It is a relay point for visiting the ruins of Kameyama Castle in spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is also a venue for various events.
