Large portable kabuki museum which costs 600 yen to enter or is included in the 5 for 1000 yen passport around Nagahama. Photos are only allowed of the floats.

Recommened if visiting Nagamaha City and insterested in the culture. The museum serves as a permant storage for several of the large floats used during the annual street parade. Very interesting and amazing to get up-close and experience. Entrance fee required.

This is the Hikiyama Museum. I was interested in the "Nagahama Hikiyama Festival", which is also registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and wanted to see it here. A museum that introduces the history and culture of the Nagahama Hikiyama Festival, one of Japan's three major dashi festivals. The Nagahama Hikiyama Festival began with the townspeople building 12 floats to celebrate the birth of Hideyoshi's boys. Of the 12 floats, 4 are currently patrolling every year, and on the stage of the Hikiyama. "Children's Kabuki" is performed at. I have a plan after this today and I can't go sightseeing slowly, but one day I'll come to Nagahama Castle and other Nagahama sightseeing.
