The best supermarket in the area and highly recommended. They don't use additives / preservatives for their breads, pastries, as well as ready-to-go bento box etc., which also means short expiry dates. The name Fukushima comes from the last name of the store owner, and nothing to do with Fukushima pref. Veggies are mostly organic. Great sushi selection, too. I personally like the fresh fish section, as I believe the price is very reasonable. Though the store is not that big as it is located 3min walk from JR Akihabara, they carry everything you need.
I picked up some fresh strawberries here at Fukushimaya Akihabara! It's a very spacious supermarket in the heart of bustling Akihabara, with your selection of fruits, veggies, everything. For the strawberries, I went for the large open container of 650g, at ¥1270. Note for the open container, they do not provide lids, just put in a plastic bag. Be careful not to squish them.
Steep prices, but for the quality of the food, and compared to the rest of Tokyo, this is truly a bargain!
Make sure to grab a container of their pickled veggies- best I’ve had in Japan!!
The very very best lunch & coffee place in Roppongi. Such a great choice of food. Excellent quality. Fair price.
