Kokubunji Park

There is "Kokubunji Yakushido" on the east side of the small "Kokubunji Park", and there is "Shikoku 88 Pilgrimage Stone Buddha Group" in the precincts (north side of Yakushido). We often see the artificial hills of Mt. Fuji in the temple grounds, but there is something in common between the Fuji worship that climbs Mt. Fuji and the "Shikoku 88 Pilgrimage Stone Buddha Group". It is believed that by visiting the stone Buddha statues carved from each of the main idols of the 88 temples of Shikoku, you can get the same benefits as the full wishes of a pilgrimage to 88 places in Shikoku in one day. In other words, it is a group of stone Buddhas that people who are not confident in their feet, busy people, etc. who can not go on a pilgrimage trip to Shikoku can get peace of mind by visiting this stone Buddha. Musashi Kokubunji is a temple of the Shingon sect Toyoyama school, so it is no wonder that there is a "Shikoku 88 Pilgrimage Stone Buddha Group" related to Kukai. It would be even better if there was a guide board for the stone Buddha statue in the precincts.
