MARUETSU Petit

Standard urban Tokyo supermarket. Decent quality and selection (especially for packaged foods) but not much room to move in the aisles. Price is good for the area. I can often find meat and seafood marked down due to approaching expiration dates. Never had a problem with these discounted items since I cook with them right away.

The prices and selection are not bad, especially compared to the nearby Santoku. It's open 24 hours. You can earn T-points here. The trouble is the very narrow layout. Shopping here between 6 and 9pm on weeknights feels like a game of musical chairs. Checkout tends to move quickly. They may be stingy if you ask for an extra bag, such as to split the burden of heavy groceries between you and a friend.
