Tama cemetery is not just a regular cemetery, it is a place where many famous peoples' ashes are buried, we recently went there to visit famous Indian freedom fighter Rashbihari Bose's grave. The place is peaceful and the nature is also calming .. We are really pleased to see how they took care of the place.

Tama Cemetery has played a significant part in my daily life for quite a long time. I've lived near it, bicycled through it and walked in its rows of graves and on the paved roads that criss-cross it since 1995 when I moved to Fuchu City. There are some famous Japanese people buried there -- like politicians, writers, artists, government officials, entertainers, and a great many more, plus a few hundred thousand regular people. The natural environment of the grounds of Tama Cemetery are simply amazing as much of it like a park, instead of a place to bury the ashes of the dead. It looks different depending on the season and the time of day. My favorite season to visit it is the autumn when the fall tree foliage is in its full glory. There is every shade of the primary colors on display in the trees throughout the Tama Cemetery grounds.

A beautiful place to walk and have quiet time. There were people riding bikes and groups of small school children enjoying the space as well.

Really beautiful, well-kept cemetery. It gives you a real sense of peace, which is quite appropriate given the place.

A sprawling and interesting cemetery which is home to the graves of many famous people, like Yukio Mishima. It's filled with trees and flowers in all seasons, and gets a fair number of visitors for cherry blossoms. In fact, it's much like a park that people use for birding, running, cycling, and so on -- as long as you're respectful to graves and visitors. There are plenty of toilets throughout the grounds, but not any other amenities. Also take care at night as it is not well lit.
