I've had an amazing visit in the Toro museum. Personally I really like history and archaeology, yet there are not much ancient archaeological sites in Japan. I was really enjoying this one, learning about the place through the ruins and its interactive museum. Shizuaka is one of my favourite places in Japan thanks to the Toro area and of course the amazing view of mount Fuji from there. The museum's staff were really nice and willing to teach even with the lack.of english and I had a great time with them. They even offered me to go to the museum's roof and watch the beautiful view of the Fuji. I really recommend to anyone travelling shizuaka or its area the hop over there. Also recommended to all ages.
This museum is small but has lots if information on the Toro site. There are many interactive exhibits for kids and the ticket is only 200 yen for adults.
A museum displaying artifacts excavated from the Toro ruins, which discovered the Yayoi period village for the first time in Japan 🌿🌿
In particular, all 775 items excavated from that area are designated as national important cultural properties 💁♂️
However, although it is an excavated item that is no different from other museums, I was a little unconvinced that this site was designated as a national treasure because it was discovered early in Japan 😞
Also, the volunteers in the hall seemed to be proud of it just by listening to something "because it was the place where I discovered the first Yayoi culture in Japan" 😞😞
The contents of the exhibition were also very ordinary 😞😞
The miniature of the reproduction of Toro Village immediately after entering the permanent room was wonderful 😊
The gelato made from ancient rice sold on the first floor was surprisingly delicious with a unique feeling as if you were eating rice and gelato together 😋😋
Furthermore, on the first floor, you can experience making and playing things from that time in a zone that realistically reproduces the houses, warehouses, shrines, and rice cultivation of the Yayoi period 👨👩👧 👦
I especially recommend that you can see the wonderful scenery of Mt. Fuji and the Toro ruins from the rooftop, which is really dangerous 🗻✨✨✨✨
The roof is really a rare spot 🦉
I can think of ancient life. I felt that wisdom was overflowing in an era when there was no convenient thing.
The exhibition at the museum was also very interesting and enjoyable.
It is a museum that houses important cultural properties such as residences from the Yayoi period. Volunteers will be able to explain the facility in an easy-to-understand manner. There is a restored house in the plaza in front of the museum, and you can actually go inside, so it is perfect for children studying history.
