It was closed, we travelled so far to see it and they changed the days it was open, now it's only open Sundays. They haven't updated their English site, so if you don't speak Japanese, you won't know.

A very small museum, but it has many items used to be owned by Toshizo himself, including a sword and his protectors. Only open on the first and the third Sunday of the month. The museum manager is a descendent of Hijikata family who I got to talk to briefly. If you are a fan of Toshizo, you wouldn't want to miss this place.

I think it will be difficult for you to have descendants, but I am very grateful to you for releasing the valuable materials. After the Meiji Restoration, I think I was able to maintain this much until the Shinsengumi and Toshizo Hijikata were re-evaluated. It is a museum that I would like you to continue as much as you can.

At that time, the armor worn by Toshizo Hijikata and the materials written down are displayed. There is a wooden sword used for swinging on the table, but it is heavier and thicker than general ones. Mr. Ryotaro Shiba's burning sword tells us about the weight of Toshizo's sword. Hino still has some remnants of the past, and I think it's a pleasure to take a walk around the area.

It's been 7 years since I finally visited the tour with the third honesty. The first one is closed, the second is closed due to heavy snow, and today is today! I thought, but I thought that there might be a corona closing, so I came after confirming the opening on the net. The exhibits were a little less than I imagined, but it was a museum where I could feel the deputy director. After the tour, walk as it is to Takahata Fudoson at Hijikata Toshizodaiji Temple. We arrived in about 20 minutes on foot and saw the statue of Toshizo Hijikata and the beautiful lotus flowers and went home!
