Great place for getting nicely packed souvenirs and a quick bite with these impressively made o-nigiris (Japanese rice ball). Their size, texture and flavour are perfectly balanced. The tea though is a little disappointing.

Menbei Fukutaro's Dazaifu store. From Dazaifu Station is the opposite direction to the approach to the shrine, but it is a perfect push for eating and walking! The handyness of 200 yen and topping plus 30 yen is also good. But there is something to eat. I prefer to reduce the oiliness of rice a little more, but if you're eating sweets, Umegae-mochi mochi will be one of the hottest eating gourmets! The shop is also fashionable, and various kinds of tasting are possible! There is a product limited to directly managed stores, and good for souvenirs!

Grilled rice balls with perilla are insanely delicious. The scent of perilla is very good.
