2020.11.25 visit Passing through the white gate, you will find Honbo / Myojuin, and if you pass through the small gate on the Tsukiji wall that continues to the right, you will find a garden. The garden of Meijuin is a pond spring strolling garden, and although the south garden is a small pond, a bridge is built on Dejima, and a waterfall stone group mainly consisting of Tateishi can be seen in the back. Next to the pond is a treasure-shaped Gomadou that survived the fire of 1977. Gomadou was built in the first year of Shotoku (1711), and a wooden Daikokuten half-shoulder statue (Kunishigebun) made in the latter half of the Heian period is enshrined in the hall. To the left of Gomadou, there is a hip-roofed tea room, Mizuunkaku. Built during the Ansei era (1854-60). It is said to be a pond strolling garden, but if you go along a long and narrow pond like a river, the garden is arranged so as to surround the three sides of the Shoin. The south garden is the Momoyama period, the east garden that forms the main garden is the early Edo period, and the north garden is the three gardens that are estimated to be the end of the Edo period. Stands, and the five-wheeled tower stands opposite. The garden is skillfully set with old cedar blue pine as a natural background, a vertical waterfall with many stones skillfully incorporated is set up powerfully, and the well-maintained pruning of Satsuki balls around it is impressive. It is designated as a scenic spot. You can go up to the Shoin facing the garden. Perhaps this is a mortuary hall, a Buddha statue is enshrined in front of it.

Beautiful temple with autumn leaves If you have a bad leg, you can drive up to the top if you ask.

It was an out of season garden, but I still felt it. I want to visit again during the season of autumn leaves, fresh greenery and seasonal flowers.
