熊本では一番の進学校ではあるが、妙なエリート意識を持ってるのが多い。熊高⇒熊大なんて自慢にならないよ。それが通用するのは県内だけ。田舎の進学校あるあるだね。

It is generally called "Kumataka", but current students and graduates call it "Kumakou". By the way, according to a reporter from a newspaper company when I visited Nagasaki to take the test, in Nagasaki it seems to be called "ponkou" (laughs).
