The entrance fee is 300 yen for adults, where Naoya Shiga and other cultural materials known as the “Shirakaba school” are open to the public. In the Taisho era, the founder Muneyoshi Yanagi called the potter Bernard Reach, and since Abiko was cultivated as a villa, many cultural people moved and became a major base of the Shirakaba school. There was a house of Naoya Shiga in the immediate vicinity from here, so many materials of Naoya Shiga are on display. You can appreciate pottery and landscape paintings of Teganuma. From 11:00 and 13:00, you can listen to the performance of the grand piano at that time. Also, you can listen to the opera in the basement with a CD. Although it is a reprinted version, how about thinking about Taisho democracy while reading the birch?
I learned that Bernard Reach started making ceramics here.
I've been to a workshop in St Ives, England, so I'm really impressed. (What a smile of his work on display here!) It is difficult to imagine the state of the villa at that time from Abiko, but I will tell you if I come here. Although it is small, I think it is an important learning place that conveys the culture of the past.
I think this is a place where you can get a glimpse of the true charm and value of Abiko.
A museum where you can learn about Abiko's culture
I'm glad if it is a mania but 😨
I do not feel like visiting here and becoming a fan.
