King and Queen exhibition on now. A bit different focus and shows the 3 main Families, Tudor, Stuart and Windsor, and how painting turned to photography in recent Queen Elizabeth II times, the longest reigning monarch. Queen Victoria was also the first just reigning, not ruling, monarch. Covid precautions, but surprisingly full, less social distancing. Really enjoyed glimpses into personal lives, and somehow catch feelings from faces, jewelry, clothing.

The curator's behavior is wonderful.

Do not get fool by the name of this museum. No Royal collections you will find in here. When we went, they were exhibiting a couple of not very well known whatever artists. The worsted 20 dollars spent in Japan for us. Go straight to the National museum.

Extremely interesting exposition - highlight of Japan art. Informative and laconic.

It's tiny... Smaller than the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. They do have good exhibition from time to time, but I didn't have good luck this time as my trip didn't overlap with any of the good ones (they were presenting calligraphy and paintings by art students). They know what they're doing so usually the good exhibits are not free whereas the ones not in line to general public interest are free admission. It's less crowded than the National Museum of Western Art.
