Yuzo Yamamoto Memorial

昭和の文豪･山本有三の住居跡を記念館として公開したものです。ハイセンスの洋館は、玉川上水沿いの地にしっくりなじんで、この一帯を豊かな空間にしています。 裏の庭園は丁度、紅葉の見頃で若いカップルが撮影にいそしんでいました。 庭園は無料公開です。ぜひお立ち寄り下さい。 建物といい、家具や調度品といい、山本有三の人と業そのままにクオリティ高く、見ていて豊かな気分になってきます。 いま「日本少国民文庫」が灯したもの―というテーマで企画展の開催中です。 次代を担う子供達に…大きく真っ直ぐに延びてもらいたい…その志の基に「小国民文庫」の発刊となった当時の資料が展示されています。 発刊に至る中で、 「君たちはどう生きるか」の吉野源三郎さんとの出会いなど興味深い展示です。 三鷹はすぐ近くにも「太宰治資料館」があったり、昭和期に偉大な作家を輩出した地なんデスね。一日で二人の偉大な作家の業績を知ることができました。 「路傍の石」や「真実一路」「女の一生」などを読んだ若い頃が、懐かしく蘇ったひと時でした…。

The building is nice but the garden is very clean Healed

A well-designed Western-style building. There is also a nice Japanese-style room.
