Here is very neat place. The server was kind and they speak English fairly well. They only have Japanese menu. I spent quality time with my friend.

Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Cake was warm and moist. Pretty sure they made it to order. Frozen yogurt with white peach and prunes. So good. Sit back and relax cuz it takes a while.

An old folk house cafe opened on May 28, 2017 at Kotorii Koji, which is close to the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The owner, who had been working at a cafe in Tenjin for many years, was attracted to the historic atmosphere of Dazaifu and opened it. Everything is a renovation of a private house built in the 30's of the Showa period. It's a hideaway shop with a quiet appearance that you can't think that there is a lively approach to tourists every day, and it's a calm shop that you can pass by without knowing anything. The exterior is so familiar to the surroundings that it looks like a normal wooden house for a moment, but if you look carefully at the back of the narrow road, you will notice a pink sign that says "MIDLE.". The interior is a retro-modern interior with an impressive combination of dull, shiny brown wood peculiar to aged wood and brand-new white plaster walls. The scenery seen from the window does not have a feeling of openness because it is surrounded by buildings other than the entrance, but you can see the courtyard that fits perfectly between the warehouse and the old-fashioned wooden house, and although it is humble, seasonal plants and flowers Because it is a relaxing space with plants, it was so quaint that I wanted to call it the Japanese version of "Secret Garden". The owner is a woman who has a memorable smile and delicate attention, and the customer service is good. Thanks to you, I was able to relax. This time, I ordered "Meals lunch with drink (1,500 yen including tax)" and "Green green curry drink with drink (1,450 yen including tax)". "Meals Lunch" is a lively curry plate where you can enjoy two main daily curries and multiple vegetable dishes based on South Indian home-cooked dishes little by little. On this day, the daily curry was "ginger chicken curry" and "bean curry". "Ginger Chicken Curry" is an authentic spice curry with the slightly spicy taste of ginger and the sweetness of onions and tomatoes spreading on the tongue. Compared to the orthodox recipe, it has a unique finish that cinnamon slightly insists on. The horohoro chicken, which is soft enough to be easily cut with the lips, was delicious and the spiciness was less than I expected. "Bean curry" is a sweet curry with a characteristic chewy texture that is similar to steamed and grated potatoes. It's not smooth, but thick like a potage. It doesn't contain meat and isn't seasoned so flashy, but it has a mysterious and powerful flavor, and it feels like the meat of the earth. By the way, rice is a refreshing indica rice with a fragrant aroma like jasmine tea. The light and slender rice with a smooth texture that contained enough water was well entwined with the curry, and it was an excellent match (← on the top is a slice of raw onion and yogurt, which is a nice accent. It was). There are 5 kinds of vegetable dishes attached to the side! "Sambal" is a spice soup that is in the position of miso soup in India. A dense root vegetable soup with the sticky sweetness of sweet potatoes, onions, and carrots, which is solid rather than liquid. Perhaps because of the strong presence of sweet potatoes, I thought it was a taste of autumn with the image of a little Japanese style. "Sprouting Mung Beans" is made by sprouting mung beans, which are used as a material for bean sprouts, and I was surprised at the crispy and light texture that I could not imagine from the appearance. A vivid and addictive green odor that resembles raw bean sprouts makes it a good chopstick rest. "Marinated turnip" has a sweet and sour taste that makes the back mouth refreshing with a crisp acidity on the soft turnip. For "potato spice saute", the savory scent of cumin is good. "Cabbage spice saute" looks like Poriyal at first glance, but the coconut flavor is not noticeable, it is mild spicy and crispy "Papadam" has a very light and ultra-thin taste like freshly fried Pringles, and I was curious about the ingredients, but when I looked it up, I got to know the lentils (← a little like potatoes). It's a taste bean). "Green Green Curry" is a fresh curry with a clear outline of taste that you can't imagine making without using any meat. As stated on Instagram, it was quite spicy, but it was easy to eat because it had some sweetness (← cane sugar?) As well. You can see that it was carefully mashed with a stone mill, and it has a handmade taste with plenty of dietary fiber, and the deep umami extract peculiar to fish sauce is irresistible (← Kapi, a fermented paste of shrimp is used. ). It was a pity that the eggplant was a little hard with the skin remaining in the mouth, but the peppers are slightly sweet and easy to eat, and the refreshing and fragrant accent of coriander Select "hot coffee" as the last drink to be delivered. Here, he says that he uses the special beans that he ordered from a specialty coffee shop in Oita prefecture. When I took a sip of the coffee in a nice bowl instead of a tea cup, it was so mellow and fragrant that even I and my family, who are not so familiar with coffee, could tell the difference, and I groaned unintentionally. It was a warm dish that somehow conveys the personality of the owner, and it made me feel relaxed. If you were expecting a curry with spices attacking you, you might be overwhelmed, but it was healed by the gentle taste that gently conveys the vitality of each vegetable. Cakes are also popular here, so if you want to take a break while visiting Dazaifu, this is a spot that you definitely want to recommend.
