It was surprisingly difficult to get staff's attention. Our expectations were quite different given the price tag that came with the average food. We had to call up staff 2-3 times before getting water refilled and checking in on the order status. One of main dishes took 50 minutes and it was without a proper warning / explanation.
Not the best service out there, probably, but not as bad as many reviews stated.
The different breads they brought us really made a huge impact. They will surely make you want to buy some on your way back.
The roasted pork (which is quite tiny) was really delicious.
The aspect of the bread remembers to European bread, after the first bite you taste the Anko mixed with chocolate and you remember you are in Japan.
The tea is fine, one of the few places you can drink Assam tea, good for that.
Food was great but the lunch menu special wasn't available even though it was around lunch time.
Nice restaurant run by Japanese famous bakery chain. The restaurant is located in the famous shopping mall in Karuizawa, so you can enjoy shopping in addition to the nice lunch. There are other looking-nice restaurant in the mall so you have other choices even if you want to eat other things. The signature of this restaurant is cheeseburger with big portion of fries. Its meat is pretty juicy and buns are fluffy that are worth trying.
