Kuroyu Onsen

This is one of the best Authentic Japanese Hot springs. When you take outdoor bathrooms, you can enjoy dynamic atmosphere. And you are satisfied with their dinner which includes a lot of local specialities.

Great water great place, go in the fall or in the winter, and the staff is very friendly they spoke some english, I mostly use Japanese, but a worthwhile time. Would suggest

A good onsen. Nice water, loved the waterfall massage. Both separate and mixed bath options. Water is milky in color. The forest path to the other nearby onsen is nice. Some nice hiking in the area. Staff is super friendly and small rest area is quite nice. They sell a small selection of drinks, souvenirs and snacks. Would go again.

Very traditional onsen hotel. Good place for chilling out and experience original decoration of hot spring. Surprisingly senior staff can speak good English which is good for people who are not able to speak Japanese. Dinner and breakfast both provide great various options. Maples have a tendency to turn red in the end of Oct and would be the best season to visit.

This stay essentially has two star infrastructure with a very nice hot water spring attached.
